Students

Our mission is to inspire and engage participation in the democratic process.  This can only be achieved if participants have the knowledge and understanding they need to participate.  Our aim is to support this learning through participation in:

• Forum for Young Albertans
• School at the Legislature
• Student Vote

Educational resources will soon expand.  Materials will be provided to Social Studies teachers, to support the grade 6, 9 and 11 curricula, which encompass the principles of democracy and citizenship.

For students aged 18 and over, special voting assistance is available to those who are attending university or college away from home.  A process is available to ensure they are able to vote, even though they may not be home during the election period.  More information is contained in the guide “Information for Students on Provincial Elections”.
