Green Party of Alberta
The Green Party of Alberta, a registered political party, notified the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of its planned leadership contest. In accordance with section 9.2(1) of the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act (EFCDA), the chief financial officer of the party filed a statement with the CEO setting out:
February 17, 2017 as the date of the official call of the leadership contest; and
November 4, 2017 as the date fixed for the leadership vote.
Registration of Leadership Contestants
Persons who intend to seek the leadership of the registered party shall file an application for registration with Elections Alberta in accordance with section 9.2(4) of the EFCDA. The Green Party of Alberta set September 10, 2017 as the close of nominations. Each registered leadership contestant is identified below, along with the date of registration:

All registered contestants were accepted by the party and considered for leadership. On November 4, 2017 Romy Tittel was voted in as the new leader.

In accordance with section 43.02 of the EFCDA, each registered leadership contestant must file a Leadership Contestant Campaign Return within 4 months after the date of the leadership vote. Accordingly, March 5, 2018 is set as the deadline for filing campaign returns.
The campaign return must contain a financial statement, a contribution report in accordance with section 32(4.3) of the EFCDA, a campaign expense report, and supporting information and documents relating to the leadership campaign return. An audited financial statement and copy of the auditor’s report must accompany the campaign return if campaign expenses exceed $25,000.
