The Chief Electoral Officer is responsible for the administration of:
Three provincial statutes:

  • the Election Act,
  • the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act and
  • the Senatorial Selection Act.
Three Regulations:
  • the Election Act Forms Regulation prescribes certain forms to be used for election administration;
  • the Election Act Fees and Expenses Regulation prescribes the fees and expenses payable to election officers and to other service providers; and
  • the Prohibited Corporations Regulation designates prohibited corporations for the purposes of the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act.
