Pro-Life Alberta Political Association
The Pro-Life Alberta Political Association, a registered political party, notified the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of its planned leadership contest. In accordance with Section 9.2(1) of the Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure Act (the EFCDA), the chief financial officer (CFO) of the party filed a statement with the CEO setting out:
August 1, 2018 as the date of the official call of the leadership contest; and
August 17, 2018 as the date fixed for the leadership vote or votes.
Registration of Leadership Contestants
Persons who intend to seek the leadership of the registered party shall file an application for registration with Elections Alberta in accordance with section 9.2(4) of the EFCDA. One leadership contestant registered with Elections Alberta and was acclaimed as the new leader.

In accordance with section 43.02 of the EFCDA, the registered leadership contestant must file a Leadership Contestant Campaign Return within 4 months after the date of the leadership vote. Accordingly, December 17, 2018 is set as the deadline for filing campaign return.
The campaign return must contain a financial statement, a contribution report in accordance with section 32(4.3) of the EFCDA, a campaign expense report, and supporting information and documents relating to the leadership campaign return. An audited financial statement and copy of the auditor’s report must accompany the campaign return if campaign expenses exceed $25,000.
