October 14, 2026

EDMONTON – A power outage caused by high winds in the Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock electoral division has disrupted advance voting at the Athabasca Seniors Centre in Athabasca and the Returning Office at 4714 50 Street in Clyde. The power outage occurred around 2:00pm and is expected to be restored by 4:30pm.

The voting locations have been closed and all voting materials, ballot boxes, and ballots have been secured. A notice to electors has been posted on the doors of the advanced voting sites and voters are being asked to return when power is restored.

When power is restored, both locations will re-open and stay open after 8:00pm the same amount of time they were closed in order to accommodate electors.

Updates will follow as they are available.
