Where Do I Vote?

Electors may vote at any advance voting place in their electoral division or on Election Day at their assigned voting place. Our Where to Vote tool can provide you with options for advance voting, your Election Day voting location, and the address of your local Returning Office.

You may also find your in-person voting options:

• on your Where to Vote card mailed to electors starting in late September,
• on your emailed Where to Vote card if you selected that delivery method when you registered to vote, or
• by contacting Elections Alberta at 1-877-422-VOTE (8683).

Vote in Advance

On Election Day, Monday, October 19, every elector is assigned a voting location based on their place of ordinary residence. Electors must vote at their assigned voting location, so be sure to check Elections Alberta’s Where to Vote tool or the Where to Vote card you received by mail for the correct location

All Election Day voting places are open from 9:00am to 8:00pm.

Election Day voting locations are most commonly schools, churches, community halls, and other public buildings to provide electors with an accessible voting location close to where they live.

Electors who are unable to vote on Election Day should consider voting during one of the five advance voting days October 13-17 or voting by mail.

Vote at your Assigned Location on Election Day

On Election Day, Monday, May 29 every elector is assigned a voting location based on their place of ordinary residence . Electors may only vote at their assigned voting location.

All Election Day voting locations are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Election Day voting locations are most commonly established in schools, churches, community halls, and other public buildings to provide electors with a voting location that is close to where they live.

Mobile Voting

Residents, in-patients, or individuals receiving supports and services from treatment centres, hospitals, supportive living and long-term care facilities, emergency shelters, and community support centres may vote at a mobile voting station for the facility if one has been established. Other electors may not vote at these locations.

Special Ballot Voting

Special Ballot voting (vote by mail) is available to all electors. No reason is required to vote by mail, and it is the only voting option available for electors who are away from their ordinary residence for during advance voting and on Election Day.

Electors who would like to vote using a special ballot must apply for a special ballot package online or pick one up in person at Elections Alberta in Edmonton or their local returning office.

All special ballot packages must be completed and returned by mail. You cannot deliver your completed package in person. Completed packages must be received by mail at Elections Alberta no later than 5:00pm on October 16.

You can track the status of your special ballot using the link provided when you applied, or the updated link sent to you if there were issues with your original request. If your special ballot package is not showing as received and processed by 5:00pm on Sunday, October 18, you have not been marked as having voted and may vote in person at your assigned voting place on Election Day.
