Official Results for Calgary-Shaw By-election

EDMONTON – Elections Alberta has announced the Official Results for the Calgary-Shaw by-election held on September 14, 2026.

The successful candidate is Kyle Campbell, representing the Alberta New Democratic Party.

Official Results are available on the Elections Alberta website, elections.ab.ca, under “Election Results” or going directly to officialresults.elections.ab.ca. Results include information on the number of ballots cast by voting method, number of electors on the List of Electors including new registrations, and voting area results for each candidate.

The voter turnout was 35.0%. The following table provides the voter turnout figures for the Calgary-Shaw by-election, as well as the comparative results from the 2023 Provincial General Election.

Electors who voted used the following voting methods:

  • 53.19% voted on Election Day (in-person voting on September 14, 2026).
  • 43.44% voted in advance (in-person voting between Tuesday, September 8, and Saturday, September 12).
  • 2.75% voted by special ballot (voting by mail).
  • 0.62% voted at a mobile voting opportunity (voting opportunities provided in supportive living and long-term care facilities, hospitals and treatment centres, emergency shelters, and community support centres).
