Deadline for Filing Intervention Applications

The Chief Electoral Officer of Alberta has referred the following question to the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta:

Does the following proposal contravene section 2(4) of the Citizen Initiative Act, in that it contravenes any or all of sections 1 through 35.1 of the Constitution Act, 1982:

“Do you agree that the Province of Alberta shall become a sovereign country and cease to be a province in Canada?”

The Court file number is 2503-15116.

By September 17, 2025, applications to the Court of King’s Bench may be made for status to participate as intervenors in this reference question.
